How to clean your shutters

Shutters do not only bring style and sophistication to your home, they also bring low maintenance! See below the best ways to keep your shutters looking brand new.

Dusting

Using a simple feather duster across the louvres to remove any dust. Dust builds up around the hinges which can be removed with a dry soft toothbrush to get into the hard to reach areas. A dry microfibre cloth can also be used to dust.

General Cleaning

A hoover can be used with the upholstery attachment to avoid any damage to the shutters. Please ensure no chemicals are used on the shutters as it may effect the paintwork and void the warranty. Please do not use any wet cloths on wooden shutters as this can cause warping and damage to the shutters.

Other Advice

It is important to keep on top of any condensation from your windows, if the condensation is not removed from the windows it risks collecting on the sill between the window and shutters potentially damaging your windowsill and shutters if they are wooden. Use a cloth to keep the gap between the shutters and window clean and dry.
